With reference to Admiralty letter M.0265 of 14th February

1927, Hong Kong Goverment should be asked to contribute

£200 per month for each launch hen charters are

renewed. As pointed out in above letter present

contribution does not meet half the cost of hiring and

maintaining launches even excluding cost of personnel.

Admiralty consider Hong Kong Government should ultimately

bear entire cost of hire and maintenance of launches,

entire cost of Chinese personnel and half cost of Naval

personnel but in view of present abnormal condition

of Hong Kong trade Admiralty will agree during

for thcoming year to £200 per month for each launch.
